Amazing Grace!

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. ~2 Corinthians 5:21

This past Lord's Day evening, our church partook of the Lord's supper...a most joyous occasion in any Christian's life. Since I am not yet a member, I did not partake, but I was still, together with my church family, meditating on the work of God in my life, confessing my many sins, and thanking Him for paying the ultimate price for me.

The ultimate price.
For me.

Have you ever just stopped to think about what that means?
Our Sovereign, Holy God came down to this wicked world to become a man....to die...for our sins.

The ultimate price.
For us.

Who am I to receive such mercy...who am I but a wretched sinner deserving nothing better than the fiery depths of hell?!!

What a wonderful God we serve...that we are honored to know! So shall we not praise him today...tonight? Oh yes, lets!

The ultimate price.
For me..for you..for us.

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved; how precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; 'tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me, his word my hope secures; he will my shield and portion be, as long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, and mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, a life of joy and peace.

When we've been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun, we've no less days to sing God's praise than when we first begun.

Thank you for this post Neesie. Sometimes I truly wonder why God would save someone as sinful as I am-- but He did! And I'm so glad He showed mercy on me. I am so undeserving yet He is so patient and forgiving.

So special to me to read this precious post and so thankful for the Lord's workings in your life. He is, indeed, a wonderful Savior. Remember Psalm 121.

I quite agree. In the movie Amazing Grace, John Newton says my favorite quote: "All I know is that I am a great sinner and Christ is a great savior."

I am curious....are only members of your church allowed to partake of communion?
